MATCH PREVIEW | VCF Mestalla Aims for Top Spot in the Premier League International Cup

VCF Mestalla will face Reading FC this Tuesday at 20:00 in the fourth and final match of Group A of the Premier League International Cup. The game will be streamed live on VCF Media, providing fans with the opportunity to follow the action in real-time.

VCF Mestalla has already secured their place in the quarterfinals of the prestigious U23 Premier League International Cup, following three impressive victories in the previous group stage matches. The team triumphed over Tottenham Hotspur FC (1-3), Nottingham Forest FC (0-1), and Wolverhampton FC (0-1), making them one of the standout performers in the competition.

VCF Mestalla, led by Miguel Ángel Angulo, will be aiming for a victory over Reading FC to complete a perfect record in the group stage of the Premier League International Cup. With three wins already secured, the team is looking to finish on top of Group A, which they could also achieve with a draw in their final match.

“We’re going with the intention to win. Our goal is to grab the three points and finish as group leaders. We’ve already beaten three strong opponents and we want to end the group stage on a high,” said Angulo.

The final group stage match of the Premier League International Cup between VCF Mestalla and Reading FC will take place at the Madejski Stadium (also known as Select Car Leasing Stadium), a venue with a capacity of 24,000 spectators. This match presents an excellent opportunity for players who have had limited playing time to showcase their abilities.

“The stage is perfect; we’re playing at the first team’s stadium, and that should be an exciting prospect for us. There will be many players who have not yet played 90 minutes or have had fewer opportunities. This is the ideal moment for them to prove that they want to play more in the league,” said Miguel Ángel Angulo.

The team, coached by the Asturian manager, faces its third consecutive season in a prestigious competition in which they reached the semifinals in the 2022/23 edition. For this season, the competition has expanded, both in the number of participants and the countries of origin of these teams.

The 32 participating teams are divided into four groups of 8, with each team playing 4 matches against English sides. The top two teams from each group will advance to the Quarter-Finals.
